Providing Services To Families Across America

Counseling and Supportive services

The National Association of Adoption Counselors strives to strengthen the well being of children and families of
all adoptive experiences. Our clinical and support services
have been developed to assist families as they encounter both
the predictable and unexpected challenges of adoption.

The NAAC’s Counseling Services are available to: adoptive
parents (including prospective and waiting parents), adopted children/teens /adults and their families, birth families, and children in foster care awaiting adoptive placements. We also provide counseling services to families formed by other alternative building methods such as donor egg/sperm.

Our therapeutic approach is comprehensive and addresses the
complex needs of adopted children/teen/adults and their families. Adoption therapists understand the unique challenges that all members of the adoption circle face throughout their lives and provides the necessary support, education and therapy to both prevent and solve the predictable, common concerns/problems faced by members of the adoption community. When indicated, we work closely with schools, psychiatrists or other mental health professionals to ensure that all of our clients’ needs are being addressed.
